When she was initially inspired through the shadows she observed in the grasses of trees and the shadows she saw on the trees, she set out to create a method that did not depict an object as a two-dimensional image. The subject is a mirror that is its own and the canvas carries its own interpretation painted by the object, especially when it is a living thing or food item, like people or fruit. Alexa's style of painting is very ephemeral. Only the photos of her work remain. Since the painting and photographic techniques are synchronized so tightly and result in an illusion of trompe l'oeil, in which the illusion of 3D can only be seen at specific locations, like the region around the eyes or hair. Meade is also able to integrate her model paintings into the space of 3D that surrounds the models. Their interaction as well as the world they created is possible. The distinctions between performance installation, photography and painting can be dissolved.
